We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. If you're going to get a photographer or aspiring photographer to do it, it depends on what you want your headshot for. Actors still need an 8x10 B&W updated three or four times a year, models usually get 9x12's and comp cards that show multiple looks. For a simple head shot: simple make-up, a solid color top (black or white only if you have a jacket or something to go with it, and hair that leaves your face open. Some style of clamshell lighting works best. I'd go for a white background myself, but it depends on your taste and the use of the photo. Muslin backgrounds tend to look like you went to Sears, Olin Mills, etc.
